- Level 4: +1 turret at a time
- Level 5: +50% duration and +40% damage
At level 5, Substitute evolves into Double Team (Doble Equipo) if you have taken Guard at least once in that run. The gold card is always offered when both conditions are true. The evolution grants ×1.8 damage, one extra turret, and a faster fire rate.
